  • Have you cut back the documentation forest?
We were previously owned by an American company which entailed serious chopping down of trees (paperwork)!!. The paperwork was incredible and a lot of it added no value or was already covered in multiple other checks, procedures etc. I had a 6 page “check the checklist” document for each month’s checks. I am now sorting my way through the fluff and decluttering.
  • Guest Speakers for Safety Training
    Hi Amber,
I have asked Diabetes NZ and Arthritis foundation to come on site before and talk to our staff. It was very well received. Arthritis was all about Gout, they even tested our staff. Diabetes again was very relevant and they tested our staff.
  • How long to hold onto an SDS?
Thanks everyone. We were owned by an American company but no longer (and yes the OSHA requirements are to keep SDS for 30 years, and yes a nightmare). We do keep SDS for all chemicals on site but if I can discard ALL the other SDS, then that will be a good day.
  • Comfortable Gumboots/inserts/options for Larger Sore Feet
Hi Genevieve, I had the same problem last year with trying to find safety gumboots that suited our Manufacturing guys feet. It certainly wasn't one size fits all. We tried on a LOT of different brands, sizes, shapes etc and FINALLY found some that were comfortable. We eventually went for a Redband gumboot and a Blundstone. But it did take a while to find ones that suited their feet. Thankfully I only had two people to purchase for. Good luck.
