I ‘attended’ a virtual summit late last week where H&S representatives from Foodstuffs, Countdown, Briscoes and EcoPortal described their experience of working through Level 4 and preparing for Level 3.
    My top 4 takeaways are:
    1. Use hazard and risk management to cope with COVID-19; physical distancing, the ability to trace contacts and good hygiene and cleaning practices are key
    2. Communicate – be open and transparent; touch base with people working at home daily; engage with people; provide expert information
    3. Look after people’s wellbeing is important in times of uncertainty
    4. Make it okay for unwell people to stay at home; use registers to manage and support staff especially vulnerable people and those isolating.
