  • EAP Providers
I have had experience with a few and the interactions I had with Instep many years ago was very good, but can't comment on what they are like now.
I wouldn't recommend one provider but not appropriate for me to comment publicly so feel free to email me
  • Sources of reliable information
    Hi Chris

I use the UK HSE a lot. I haven't managed to find many myself. I think it is part of the wider issue of ensuring H&S is regulated and that advise is correct and relevant. Even the WorkSafe website lacks good quality research info.
  • Can broad working conditions constitute a H&S risk?
Yes I totally agree they contribute. Especially resourcing. But they are also a risk to the 'culture' of an organisation which in-turn contributes to safety.
They also indicate the care and attention the SMT are showing in regards to the business - and potentially their attitude to their workers.
  • Holding people to account
I believe it should be a combination of, but leaning more to use of HSW Act. I would have liked to see a couple more cases where officers have been held to account. My experience has been until Senior Management realise there is a REAL possibility of being held to account, then they still sit back and pay little notice to safety. I believe though due diligence only goes so far and I don't think Criminal/Policy convictions will be positive either.
  • Introduce yourself here!
    Hi

I was a member of the old forum, good to see it return, but I do hope it remains useful and positive.

I have over 10 years of H&S experience and a member of NZISM. My goal is to become registered with HASANZ in the next couple of years (just watching how things go in that area first).

I am currently H&S Manager for a logistics company.

I look forward to constructive discussions and sharing ideas.

    Pia
